Living in Forssa
Lots of students in our school choose to live in the newly renovated student house, but there is also a good variety of affordable rental flats located nearby the center of the town available from the private sector.
The prices of rentable one-room flats in Forssa vary from 250 to 350 euros. There are usually free flats available for rent, and most of them are not too far from the centre of the town. For more information about rentable flats in Forssa, check out http://www.forssa-asunnot.fi (only in finnish)
The student flats in Forssa are quite new and usually for three persons, with a private room and a communal kitchen and bathroom. We also have a limited number of single flats and flats for two people. The residence is located within a walking distance (about 2 kilometers) from the school and the town centre. There is a large shopping centre close by for daily needs.
The prices for a room in the student house vary from 190 to 256 euros and also cover the costs of water, electricity and free internet connection. The student house has high level equipment: for example sauna, a laundry room and a room for drying laundry, all free of charge. Flats include basic furniture: bed, desk in the bedroom and dining table with chairs in the kitchen. Notice that mattress, pillow and blanket, nor the linen, are included. The kitchen is equipped with cooking utensils, cutlery, crockery and cleaning equipment.
(The international students of HAMK Forssa can hire kitchenware, linen, carpets, towels, curtains, desk lamps, portable televisions, old computers etc. at a very reasonable price. However, we cannot give an absolute guarantee that all our international students get everything they need. Especially computers are very limited. All this stuff works on a “first come, first served” basis. Everything is second-hand, but clean and in a fairly good condition. Note: The service is only for exchange students!)
Transportation
Forssa is located in south-western Finland and many of the country´s biggest and most important cities are just around the corner. The easiest way to reach towns like Hämeenlinna, Helsinki, Turku and Tampere is by bus. Hundreds of busses leave from, or travel through Forssa everyday, so there are several connections to other cities to choose from throughout the day.

Forssa - Helsinki (109km) 10,10 €
Forssa – Tampere (93km) 8,70 €
Forssa – Hämeenlinna (56km) 7,40 €
Inside Forssa the distances are usually so short that the easiest way to get from one place to another is by foot or by bike. There are though, some bus connections to get you through long distances inside Forssa, and of course to get you to nearby towns, such as Jokioinen and Humppila.

Sports
There´s a huge variety of sports you can do in Forssa. You can choose from swimming, bowling, floorball, basketball, football, tennis, skiing, cart racing, gunnery, pool, yoga, martial arts… just to name a few.
