Well. When I was a kid, I dreamed about north countries. And one of my favorite was Finland. Years and seconds later I had chance to go abroad for exchange studies and one of the option was Finland. Off course I chose it. And I`ve made right choice.
After first week of my studies I understood that I have to stay longer here in Finland. I enjoyed the atmosphere of this beautiful country; I met very good friends, I learned some important things of my life, I started to write some lyrics… Sober winds, “orange” autumn, dark blue nights, silence… These words are in my mind when I think about Finland. I can`t express my deep feelings about it that`s why you have to come here to see and to feel everything. But here I am to tell about the studies.
So, studies in HAMK are interesting! Because the courses include not only the theory, but also the practical things. Students have opportunities for major, minor subjects and optional subjects. For example I am studying here in HAMK Construction Engineering, and my major subjects were related to Steel Structural Design but minor ones to Environmental Engineering. We had some courses where we were using some software related to different parts of Construction Engineering (MathCAD, Excel, AutoCAD, Revuilt Structure, Tekla Structure, SimaPro, and Döflämp).
What thing that I really like in education of HAMK is self-dependency. You are student. Studies in university are the next level after school where and when you have to show your best. Off course it is important to communicate and work with other students but it is also significant to work as a future engineer, designer, manager, and scientist. Here in Finland, and especially in HAMK people respect motivation, activity, self-dependence, willingness for learning new things, and punctuality. And if you feel that you would like to become a good specialist of your field, a self-dependant and active person, and a punctual worker, you have to pass all of the exams and stay here in HAMK!
Life in Finland is in equilibrium between studies and parties. Here you have some free time for everything that you like: swimming pool, movies, books, music, football, basketball, skiing, snowboarding, skating, ice skating, ice-hockey, sauna, sauna, and sauna.
So don`t waste your time somewhere in the south part of earth, come here and feel the Finland by its warmth and tender!!!
