Campus tutors

Each HAMK UAS campus has a Campus tutor. So in total there are eight Campus tutors. Campus tutors are elected among the Degree Programme tutors and in addition to representing their own degree programme, the Campus tutors also represent all the tutors on their campus in the Sector meetings organised by the Student Union (2-4 times a year) and they are in charge of all the tutor activities on their campus. The Evo, Valkeakoski and Mustiala units of HAMK UAS do not have Degree Programme tutors they only have a Campus tutor.

The new Campus tutor is elected in the same October’s tutor meeting as the Degree Programme tutors and the Campus tutor’s name is also reported to the Student Union’s tutoring adviser. The Student Union organises Campus tutor training at the same time with the Degree Programme tutor training. In the Campus tutor training the duties and responsibilities of a Campus tutor are discussed in depth. The Campus tutor position is for one year.

The Campus tutor works together with the Student Union’s Board member and tutoring adviser, HAMK UAS student counselors and staff, and Degree Programme tutors and peer tutors. He/she makes sure that all the important messages and current announcements reach the Degree Programme tutors, ensures that every degree programme holds their tutor meetings on time and reports about the meetings to the Student Union’s tutoring adviser.

As a Campus tutor, you will take responsibility of the tutoring on your campus. You will meet the other Campus tutors and get to share your experiences and ideas on developing tutoring. The role of the Campus tutor is a very active one and you will learn many skills future employers will appreciate.

For more information on becoming a Campus tutor, contact your Campus tutor, the Student Union’s Board member or tutoring adviser.
