In General

AutoMaint’s task is the acquisition and development of new information and training in selected areas of competence for maintenance and integrated operations and maintenance in industrial automation. Our competence areas are the food and packing industries automation, maintenance and information management. Integrated operations and maintenance is seen to be actions that develop production as a whole, which is not only limited to focusing on error condition management. When developing integrated operations and maintenance, the emphasis is on data collection, processing and distributing collected data as well as utilizing it, also automatically.
Maintenance information systems are among the central research topics. These topics include R&D activities in systems monitoring, automatic data collection as well as maintenance work management systems. Maintenance information systems are not handled as separate systems, but as a part of the companies’ whole information management system. There is also special interest in condition monitoring, remote control and diagnostics.

A more general use of pc-based control can be seen in automation instrument and system guidance. The above mentioned development on its own part facilitates the integration of automation and information systems. Also an essential part of our field is the monitoring and researching of this integration development. The ability to control the main focus points of research demands good competence in automation guidance systems and production systems. One focus point in research is production system simulations.
